Design Rules + Trace Widths + easyeda pro

I was wondering if there is a way to put in full design rules for the board such as trace width, etc. For my power nets, when it computes them and I try to put in my own options it doesn’t actually use those custom trace widths. I would like the ability to upload a file (csv) that has the necessary constraints like with the option of ECAD Parsed Constraints.

It would also be nice to specify that you want the major traces for power net, various signals, etc. on layer X when using a 4 layer or more board. I’m also not able to specify the ground trace width, there are times I would like it a bit larger, and on layer 2 when I select it, it won’t do a grounding pour.

I would also love the ability to use easyeda pro, as I find building schematics on it much closer to allium designer, since I love breaking apart my full schematic with various pages, which kicad does weirdly.

It would also be nice to do high speed traces for memory and even grounding / via fences (not sure if thats an RF beta capability)

Hi Mike,

Thanks for all the feedback here! With regards to your design rule situation, it sounds like you are referring to a specific job. If you could reach out to me at justin@quilter.ai with your job URL I can take a look and give you more specific feedback on your exact use case.

Thank you for all of the other feedback! It is really useful to hear directly from our users about what you think would make the product better. I’d be happy to keep you in the loop if/when we release some of these features via email. You can also check out our changelog here: Changelog to see when major releases become available.

Thanks again,

Justin
